Emily Entertains Herself

Emily is as content doing a puzzle by herself as she is pestering her siblings. She has become quite good at completing puzzles!

When I was much younger (probably Ian’s age), I got a game for Christmas called “Run Yourself Ragged“. It was an obstacle course game where you manage a small ball bearing across and through various pitfalls and mazes. Since this was long before video games, I became very good at completing the course since I had nothing but time to play. I think my fastest time was 17 seconds!

The kids haven’t quite gotten the hang of it yet. As Emily demonstrates, the ball frequently falls off (usually on the floor) and you are supposed to start all over. However, my kids decided it best to either not use the timer at all, or just put the ball back where it left off (or skip that level). Curse those pesky “rules”!
